How a Positraction Differential Works A positraction differential apply's power to both rear wheels. During a turn the positraction applies more traction to the inside wheel thus improving stability and cornering. When driving in poor driving conditions (snow, ice) starting from a standstill with one wheel on a slipperier surface than the other wheel, you need to apply a slight brake application with either the brake pedal or the e-brake to cause resistance which in turn will load the clutches in the posi resulting in maximum traction / minimal slippage of both rear tires. Failure to do so will result in non lockup, and will spin one tire that has the least resistance causing excessive clutch wear/overheating.
